First: take your copy
Deletion is permanent, and there is no recovery on our side either. If you want anything you’ve put in — documents, photos, receipts, service history — go to Settings → Your data → Download everything first. It builds a zip of the lot in ordinary folders you can open on any computer. It takes a minute now, and cannot be done at all afterwards.
From inside the app
Settings → Account → Delete account. You type DELETE to confirm, because there is no undo. That’s it — no email to send, no waiting period, no “are you sure” phone call.
Already uninstalled the app?
You don’t need it. The HouseHOLDER is the same account on the web: sign in at thehouseholder.diy from any browser and take the same path — Settings → Account → Delete account. Forgotten the password? Use the reset link on the sign-in page first.
Can’t sign in at all?
Email info@thehouseholder.diy from the address your account is registered under, asking us to delete it. We’ll verify it’s really you, delete the account, and confirm when it’s done — within one month, and usually much faster.
What gets deleted
Everything. Properties, belongings, rooms, vehicles, pets, documents and their photos, bills, statement history, reminders, passwords vault, location history, the lot — and the account itself. Deletion is permanent and complete; there is no recovery, which is why the app offers Download everything (Settings) before you go. Take your copy first.
Residual copies in our short-lived encrypted backups expire automatically shortly after, and are never used for anything except disaster recovery in the meantime.
Two things worth knowing before you press it
If you own your household, its shared record goes with you — the people you share with will lose access to what you kept together. Warn them first.
Deleting the account does not cancel an app-store subscription. If you ever subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel it there — Apple and Google take the money and only they can stop taking it.
Just want less, not gone?
You can delete any individual thing — a document, a vehicle, a whole property — from inside the app, and the AI features have an off switch in Settings. Deletion isn’t the only privacy control; it’s just the loudest one.
